About Drive a Senior
Drive a Senior is a nonprofit organization that arranges free rides to medical appointments, grocery stores, the barber shop, banks, activity centers, support groups, errands, etc. to seniors in the Austin area. For many seniors, this is the only time they get to leave their house or apartment complex. Drive a Senior provides a sense of independence for seniors in the Austin area, and even brings new friendships and companionship between the drivers and fellow seniors.
Drive a Senior has provided over 35,000 rides and has almost 80,000 volunteer hours to over 2,580 senior citizens in the Austin area.

About Interact
Interact is a high school club sponsored by Rotary International. Our mission is to provide service throughout our school, community, and the world. The fun run is just one of many projects the Hendrickson and Pflugerville High School Interact Clubs are working on together this year. We have chosen to raise money for Drive a Senior because it is a nonprofit that has a strong, positive message about a beneficial service. This is what Rotary and Interact are all about, putting service above yourself for the common good of others. We all have grandparents or parents whom we love, but can't attend to everyday. Drive a Senior provides all of that, and they should be rewarded.
